Il faudra faire attention aux abeilles en Floride
Lauderhill: Hive removal closes parts of strip mall

Fire officials cordoned off parts of a strip mall for about two hours when they discovered a bee hive "as big as a basketball" in the parking lot Thursday, a Lauderhill Fire-Rescue spokesman said.

A man walked into Fire Station 30 about
12:30 p.m., saying there was a large swarm of bees in the strip mall nearby at Northwest 41 Terrace and Northwest 12th Street, said Assistant Fire Chief Tim Hautamaki. Firefighters rushed to the mall, across from the well-known Lauderhill Mall, and found the hive about 10 feet from the ground, in a palm tree.
