Groundbreaking Friday for new regional park
A groundbreaking ceremony beginning construction of the new 109-acre Central Regional Park will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Lauderhill.
Attending the ceremony, at the northwest corner of Sunrise Boulevard and State Road 7, will be Broward County Mayor Kristin Jacobs and county commissioner Josephus Eggelletion Jr., as well as other local officials.
The new park is expected to include a multi-use event field, soccer and football fields, picnic areas, walking paths and a nature trail.
