Broward, Lauderhill officials makes pitch to host cricket World Cup in 2007
The matches would be played in a 5,000-seat cricket complex in the county's planned 109- acre regional park in Lauderhill, near the corner of State Road 7 and Sunrise Boulevard. Temporary seating could expand the stadium to seat 15,000 to 20,000 spectators.

The park won't be ready until December 2006, so for the moment officials must sell a vision of a $60 million park that will include a cricket stadium, cultural center, water playground, recreational lake and nature trails
